About Vietnam National Museum of History

Known as the oldest of its kind in Vietnam, the Vietnam History Museum was built in 1926 under the name Louis Finot Museum by the Ecole Française d’Extreme-Orient and finished in 1932. The museum changed its name after being taken over by the Vietnamese Government and opened to the public on 3 September 1958.

There are more than 7,000 preserved precious objects, some aged thousand years old which represent the cultural diversity of the country.

There wasn't really a common thread to be found (plus little in English). We are looking for a better, chronological, museum about the history of Vietnam. (Original) Ik zou het overslaan. Really interesting documents. There is little to guide you around what you're looking at so takes a bit of work to decipher what is going on. No AC, only fans and set over two floors. Would recommend as I found it a very interesting place!
