About Temple Of Literature

The Temple of Literature is a precious historical relic in Hanoi, Vietnam. It consists of two main areas; the Temple of Literature, which was built in August 1070 under the reign of King Ly Thanh Tong and dedicated to Confucius and famous scholars, and the Imperial Academy, dedicated to the king’s children and noble families. It was considered the oldest university in Vietnam, symbolizing the tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese nation.

The Temple is open from 7:30 am in winter, and 8:00 am in other seasons. The closing time is 6:00 pm.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful place full of history and energy. For those who want to deepen (very well!) the history of this great temple there is the possibility of renting an audio guide in Italian. Worthwhile for those who have time to listen because the descriptions are very long (and in any case complete). (Original) Un luogo meraviglio... see more
